Songy Highroads' Hyatt Place Centennial Park in Atlanta Under Construction

Construction has reached fifth floor of the 11-story hotel

ATLANTA (Nov. 6, 2018) – Construction is underway on Hyatt Place Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta, a joint venture between affiliates of Atlanta-based developer Songy Highroads, LLC (SHR) and Hyatt Hotels Corporation. The hotel, at 300 Luckie St., is across the street from the Georgia Aquarium and steps from Centennial Olympic Park and World of Coca-Cola.

The planned 11-story building has risen to the fifth floor and is slated to open in August 2019. It will feature retail space facing Luckie and Marietta streets in addition to 175 guest rooms, a pool, fitness center, on-site food service, a parking deck and 2,100 square feet of meeting space.

“The hotel is across the street from Georgia Aquarium’s new shark exhibit which we know will be a major tourism draw, so we’re thrilled we’ve made such progress on construction,” said Todd Nocerini, SHR’s chief operating officer.

General Contractor Reeves Young is building the hotel. Eric Young also worked on the Georgia Aquarium when it was first built. He’s now the head of Reeves Young. The architect for the project is Wakefield Beasley.

SHR has become a trusted partner of the Hyatt brand for developing upscale, urban hotels throughout the Southeast. Hyatt Place Centennial Park will mark SHR’s sixth Hyatt-branded development since 2014. SHR and Hyatt acquired the land for the downtown Atlanta hotel in late 2017 and closed on a $32.9 million construction loan in March 2018.

Other recent projects include the Hyatt Regency hotel and Hyatt Place hotel adjacent to Houston’s Galleria shopping center, the Hyatt Place hotel in downtown Washington, D.C., the Hyatt Regency Fairfax hotel conversion and renovation in Fairfax, Va., and the Hyatt House Nashville West End that currently is under construction.
