ATLANTA – JUNE 27, 2022 – SHR Residential (“SHR Resi”) has broken ground on The Howell, a Class A apartment community in Atlanta’s Upper West Side neighborhood on the site of a former food truck park on Howell Mill Road and the I-75 Interstate.
The Howell will have 210 premium apartments, with a mix of 3-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom units. There will also be coworking space, as well as spaces for retail or food and beverage.
SHR Resi, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Songy Highroads, expects to complete the ground-up development at 1850 Howell Mill Road NW in early 2024.
The Howell was designed by Atlanta’s Cooper Carry architects. SHR Resi’s capital partner for the project is Chicago-based private equity firm Walton Street Capital, while construction financing is provided by Atlanta’s Ameris Bank. Reeves Young is the General Contractor, while Rivers Residential will serve as SHR’s project manager.
The Howell is SHR Resi’s first ground-up multifamily project, and it meets the need for more Class A premium multifamily housing in the vibrant Upper West Side area of Atlanta, which is located near the Buckhead, Collier Hills, Springlake and Wildwood neighborhoods.
